Do you need a speaker?
I like visiting schools and speaking at conferences. Below, you'll find my out and about schedule for the 2011-2012 school year.
I only wish I could go by rocket ship. (Usually I go via Lurch, my white-under-all-its dirt minivan). If you want me to come to your school or conference, please email me. You can find more information on my speaking page.

Arizona Library Association ConferenceAre you ready for Arizona's centennial? Jennifer J. Stewart and Lynne Avril reflect on the past 100 years as the author/illustrator team introduces their picture book, The Twelve Days of Christmas in Arizona. They will explain its creation, from the initial idea to finished book, taking the audience through the process of researching, writing, sketching, revising, collaborating, even more researching, and the final art. They will demonstrate how the book works for a wide age range—younger children sing the verses, count, identify, and increase their vocabulary, while school age children become familiar with Arizona facts, culture, and history, through exposure to the fun fact-filled letters Isabella writes home. What will Arizona's next century look like? Come find out. |
